Welcome to the Richard and Kay Naylor family webpage. The above picture is of my dad, Carl Grady Naylor, and my mother, Virginia Anita Phillips Naylor.
This picture dates to about mid 1941 or so. We hope you will find our site interesting and informative. Continue to check back in as we will continually upgrade and update this site.
The Naylor family was established in the U.S. in the late 1600's with the first family members immigrating to the Carolinas about that time. From there, they spread throughout the south and by the early 1800's were established in Texas, especially north and central Texas.
Our present living family members live in Fayetteville, Arkansas; Springdale, Arkansas; Farmington, AR; Houston, Texas; Grand Prairie, Texas; and Irving, Texas.
A Little About Me: I was born in Irving, Dallas County, Texas, in December of 1942 in a house that still stands on Story Road. It was part of a very large farm originally, but my Grandfather Phillips sold most of it off when he and my grandmother separated and eventually got a divorce. I graduated from Irving High School in 1960 and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in September of the same year.
I spent my military time as an air traffic controller, and in 1961 voluteered to become a combat controller. I served not only in the U.S., but also in Turkey and South Vietnam. After four years of service I was honorably discharged from the military and went to work in Dallas, Texas. I met my wife Kay in February of 1965 and we were married in August of the same year. I am a ham radio operator, callsign K5LRS. I also like fishing and hunting, along with watching my grandsons grow up. My father died in 1989 of cancer.
I am employed by the United States Postal Service as Rural Mail Carrier, with 15 years of service.
A Bit About Kay. Kay was born in Springdale, Arkansas in 1943, the daughter of Pate and Leota Dixon. Her father was killed in a truck accident when she was just a little girl. Kay has two brothers and two sisters. She graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1961 and eventually wound up in Dallas, Texas, where I met her in 1965. She is a LPN-CST, but currently works in the billing department of a local hospital. Her hobbies include geneaology, crafts and her grandchildren.
